Microscope Dentistry

Dr. Alexander utilizes a clinical microscope to achieve extreme attention to detail. The microscope can enlarge the working area 20X naked vision, and the ability to see all defects in teeth that can be rectified and rendered to create long, lasting, successful teeth reconstruction.

The standard of care rendered is unchallenged without magnification. One of core goals as a practice is to have the highest quality restorations that stand the test of time.

Dental cleaning (dental prophylaxis) is performed by a dental hygienist.

Your cleaning appointment will include:

Removal of plaque.

Dental Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins (poisons) that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the start of periodontal disease!

Removal of calculus (tartar).

Calculus is a hardened calcified plaque that forms on the teeth above and below the gum. The tartar is like coral, full of voids that harbors millions of bacteria that exacerbate the inflammation and leads to periodontal disease. Specialized instruments are needed to remove this calculus.

Teeth polishing.

Polishing removes stain and plaque that is not removed during brushing and scaling. We employ sophisticated equipment called air polishers that use glycine and erythritol granules that are harmless to tooth structure but incredibly effective at removing all stains.
