A dental implant is a titanium root replacement onto which a prosthetic crown or bridge can be constructed. Many companies manufacture dental implants, however we only use mainstream manufacturers with implants that have been proven and tested for many years and shown long term clinical success.
Once the dental implant is placed, it forms a structural and functional connection between the living bone and implant surface. Dental implants can be used to reconstruct one tooth or support multi-tooth bridges to replace missing teeth. The design of the prosthetic tooth or teeth attached to the implant is critical in the long-term survival and health of the surrounding gum and bone.
Dr. Alexander can replace a single front tooth or posterior tooth. Front teeth can be replaced with a cosmetic temporary the same day as the failing tooth is removed. Patients will not be without a tooth at any point in the process.
Full mouth implant bridges can be done in a single day. The “Teeth in a Day” process has been performed by Dr. Alexander for over 20 years. The current digital technology allows pre-planning and fabrication of your new prosthesis prior to surgical implant placement, allowing patients with removable dentures and failing teeth to leave the office with fully functional and esthetic reconstructions on the same day of procedure.
There are cases that need additional procedures to correct defects prior to implant replacement. All options will be discussed at your consultation, and Dr. Alexander has the specialist training to ensure the best outcome.
